Sasha Hamid

Dr. Sasha Hamid is a dedicated Chiropractor, renowned for her commitment to promoting the chiropractic profession, fostering increased access to chiropractic care, and advocating for healthy living in Canada. Her journey in healthcare began at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Biology and Minor in French. During her university years, she spent a transformative third year in France on an exchange program, studying French at the University Marc Bloch in Strasbourg. Dr. Hamid completed her Chiropractic studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating in 2006. Her personal experience as a patient at CURAVITA Health Group before entering Chiropractic College left a lasting impression, motivating her to return to Ottawa and join CURAVITA as an Associate Chiropractor. in 2021, Dr. Hamid was appointed as Clinical Lead at CURAVITA’s Byward Clinic. In this role, and reporting to the CEO, Dr. Hamid provides key leadership and management for the CURAVITA healthcare providers to develop and strengthen the Clinic’s collaborative framework. Dr. Hamid’s journey into chiropractic care was influenced by personal experience with terrible jaw pain as a child. This firsthand encounter with the healthcare system and struggles with TMD illuminated the path toward a hands-on healing profession. Her primary practice techniques include Thompson, Diversified, Activator and Webster, emphasizing the importance of inter-professional collaboration in addressing MSK (musculoskeletal) issues. Passionate about MSK health, Dr. Hamid has been a prominent advocate, serving as a member of the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA). In her role, she dedicates time to government relations, promoting MSK health and awareness in Ontario and across Canada. Dr. Hamid has actively engaged in media outreach, representing the chiropractic profession and contributing to public education programs in Ontario. Her commitment extends to the Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation (CCRF), where she serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Partnership Committee. The CCRF plays a crucial role in funding breakthrough MSK research, establishing itself as Canada’s trusted source for quality chiropractic research. Dr. Hamid’s dedication to her profession and practice has earned her recognition, including being rated #1 among 130 Chiropractors in Ottawa with a 5-star rating on RateMDs.com as well as Google My Business. In 2018, she received the prestigious Forty Under 40 Award which is a joint initiative of the Ottawa Board of Trade and the Ottawa Business Journal recognizing rising business leaders under the age of 40 in the National Capital Region. In 2012, Dr. Hamid received the National Capital Fit Day People’s Choice award for Best Chiropractor in Ottawa. Dr. Hamid’s commitment to community service extends beyond her professional responsibilities. She has actively participated in various organizations, including the Women’s Business Network of Ottawa, the FIFA Women’s World Cup CANADA 2015 National Organizing Committee, Sandy Hill Community Centre and the Good Companions where she served as a Health & Wellness Presenter. She has also been involved with the Ottawa Humane Society’s Brightening Live Program, promoting animal companionship with her late Goldendoodle, Melmerby. Outside of her chiropractic practice, Dr. Hamid finds joy in spending time outdoors in the National Capital Region with her family, engaging in activities like mountain biking, hiking, and skiing.
